REFLECTION
What is one thing you feel you did well during the laser-cut paper project?
My design meeting my expectations and being perfected and traced precisely how I wanted it are two things I consider to have done well. One thing I believe I achieved well was neatly painting each letter's corner so the words seem sharp. I also had to pay attention to every letter's tiniest corner because the black background made even the smallest error stand out, so I believe I did a great job there. I was happy to have met my client's demands because Mr. Patrick Johnson insisted that the final product be perfect.
What is one thing that you would like to work on and improve for your next design project?
This final product was, in my opinion, a little too basic and simple to make, therefore for my next project, I want to challenge myself and make something more complicated. The wood piece was simpler than I had intended, but because my design was so basic, I really wanted it to be perfect and exactly the way I expected it to be. The next time I get the chance to do this again I want to get more creative and freestyle instead of tracing something off the internet since all I did was trace my design, which is a pretty simple task.
What is one thing that I could have done better to support you in this project?
Since I kept submitting my work late, such as my design brief and specification, I think that my planning and time management should have been better. When I didn't turn in my work on time, I ran into my first problem and was falling behind in class. Luckily, my design was simple, so I was able to finish that quickly but other than that, I would say I was pretty far behind. I feel like I could have done much better and more complex things on my design if I had turned in things earlier. For the upcoming unit, my goal is to stay focused, turn things in on time, and avoid becoming easily distracted.
